to Raise Awareness of the World Trade Center Health Program
December 18, 2016
More than 400,000 qualified people haven't signed up for benefits yet, and may not know help is available.
On December 18, 2015, Congress approved the extension of the Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, which provides compensation and medical and mental health treatment to first responders and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. One year later, there are still thousands of people who qualify for the benefits but have not yet signed up.
On Sunday, December 18, 2016, comedian Jon Stewart hosted a Facebook Live event from the 9/11 Museum in New York City to help raise awareness and encourage those who may apply for benefits, including those who survived that day and those who bravely and generously worked in the recovery efforts.
The event was streamed via Facebook Live, and VOICES, along with our partners 9/11 Health Watch, NYCOSH, 9/11 Environmental Action, and the FealGood Foundation hosted public watch gatherings  in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Attendees at these gatherings will include 9/11 survivors and responders and a limited number of clinical and/or municipal personnel representing survivors and responders in their communities.
Help to raise awareness by sharing the video on your Facebook or Twitter page, too!
