Description:

Purpose: Having lost 14 residents on September 11, Marlboro Township expressed an outpouring of compassion and community generosity after the event. The public demanded that some kind of a memorial be made, and the township is working to respond, including by fundraising amongst private funders to supplement their Forest Service grant. They will be planting 14 dogwood trees to honor the 14 dead with New Jersey's official memorial tree.

Events planned for site: A public dedication ceremony will be held on September 4th. Other events, including ongoing volunteer efforts and special activities, will be planned as the site develops. Meanwhile, the public is interacting with the memorial by helping to plan, design, and site it.
