Biography:
Brent was born in Dallas in July of 1970...the second of John and Mary's three children, right in between older sister Erin and younger brother Craig.
Brent graduated from LaJolla High School in 1988, and UC Berkeley in 1993. He was a tight end on Cal's football team and a left-handed pitcher for their baseball team. He played minor league baseball for the Chicago Cubs after college, before going to work for KBW in 1995. After two seasons with the Cubs, a shoulder injury helped Brent decide that baseball was not for him...and he took a job as an equities trader in New York City in 1995. He married Tracy in August, 2000. His daughter, Pierce Ashley, was born on April 22, 2002.
Brent worked for Keefe, Bruyette and Woods (World Trade Center (south tower), 89th floor). He died there with 66 coworkers in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
