Mary Lynn Ritzenthaler  


Mary Lynn Ritzenthaler is Chief of the Document Conservation Laboratory at the National Archives and Records Administration, where she has worked since 1985. She worked previously for the Society of American Archivists and the University of Illinois-Chicago, and has an undergraduate degree in English and a MSLS with a concentration in archives administration from Wayne State University. She has published and lectured extensively in the area of archives preservation.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Marie Culver  


Marie Culver is presently the Preservation Administrator for the New York State Archives. She has had 23 years of experience as a practicing paper conservator with the New York Public Library, New York State Parks, and the Center for the Conservation of Artistic and Historic Artifacts in Philadelphia, among other institutions.  

 

 

 

 

 

Gwen Spicer  


Gwen Spicer is a textile, upholstery and objects conservator, and full-time principal of Spicer Art Conservation, L.L.C, located in upstate New York. She has eighteen years of experience caring for the collections of museums, government agencies, businesses, and private owners. She often collaborates with other conservators in order to achieve the best possible combination of expertise to solve particularly complex problems.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Michael Taft  


Michael Taft is the Head of the Archive at the American Folklife Center, Library of Congress. Taft has a PhD in Folklore from Memorial University of Newfoundland (1977), and a Masters in Library Science from the University of  

Alberta (1996). He has worked as a contract folklorist for a number of Canadian institutions. More recently, Taft has been an archivist at the University of Northern British Columbia, the Vermont Folklife Center, the University of North Carolina, and the Archives of Traditional Music at  

Indiana University. Taft has authored or co-authored sixteen books on folklore and oral history.
